Timesys Announces Embedded Linux for the Freescale i.MX31 PDK

Timesys Corporation®, a premier provider of embedded Linux software solutions, today announced LinuxLink support for the Freescale i.MX31 PDK. Based on Freescale’s i.MX family of multimedia processors, LinuxLink for the i.MX31 PDK leverages the system’s powerful suite of high-performance multimedia features, including audio, video and image processing.
With this LinuxLink, subscribers will get web-based access to an easy-to-install multimedia Linux platform which includes a mini desktop, Web browser, streaming audio player and video player. Built by Timesys’ award-winning Online Linux Factory, the platform is provided with a 2.6.24 Linux kernel, GNU toolchain and hundreds of ready-to-use root filesystem (RFS) packages. Additionally, subscribers will have access to TimeStorm development tools, web-based support and a vast suite of documentation to customize and test their embedded Linux platform for a given multimedia application.

LinuxLink support for additional Freescale PDK configurations, such as the i.MX27 PDK, will be generally available over the next several months.
