Ibase Technology has announced a mini-ITX single-board computer (SBC) with an Intel 945GC Express chipset. The MI940 is equipped with an LGA775 socket supporting Intel Core 2 Duo or Pentium processors, and it provides a gigabit Ethernet controller, USB and serial ports, and other interfaces.
Designed for graphics-enabled medical, point-of-sale, kiosk, and gaming applications, the MI940 appears to be an Intel-based counterpoint to iBase's fairly similar, recently announced MI930 device. Like the M1930, which is equipped with an AMD M690T chipset supporting Athlon 64 processors, the 6.7 x 6.7-inch MI940 is based on the mini-ITX format, and offers numerous ports and edge connectors. As with the MI930, operating system support was not detailed, but previous Ibase boards have offered drivers for Linux and various flavors of Windows.
