Xandros, the leading provider of easy-to-use Linux desktop, server and management solutions, today announced that the new Xandros Linux Server 2.0 has been certified by IBM as "Ready for IBM DB2 Software for Linux." Xandros engineers worked together with IBM's DB2 Group to put Xandros Server through a rigorous set of compatibility tests that give IBM the confidence to officially support the DB2 9 Universal Database on the Xandros Server 2.0 environment. Certification of the latest version of the award winning Xandros Server meets the need of businesses of all sizes for a standards-based server solution to run mission-critical database applications.

"We are very proud that Xandros Server 2.0 has been certified to the latest DB2 9 specifications," said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. "DB2 9 certification is an important requirement for many of our enterprise customers running industrial strength database applications. Delivering the certification in a standards-based Debian Linux environment with integrated BRU backup facilities also provides unprecedented security and freedom of choice to SMBs."
