Wind River Systems Inc (NASDAQ:WIND), a provider of device software optimisation solutions, said on Tuesday (20 February) that it has acquired the intellectual property for RTLinux, a patented, hard real-time Linux technology developed by Finite State Machine Labs Inc (FSMLabs).
The deal includes patents, copyrights, trademarks and associated product rights. In addition Wind River acquired rights to future runtime revenue streams for RTLinux customers in the embedded applications field.
