The fourth alpha release (known as Flight 4) of the upcoming Ubuntu Linux 6.04 "Dapper Drake" is now available for download, the South Africa-based project announced this week. This is the feature-freeze version of Dapper Flight.

Aside from a few exceptions -- such as Gnome 2.14, the LiveCD installer, and Espresso -- most of what is in Dapper now is what will be in the final release in April, the project said.
"Dapper Flight 4 is the product of over three months of tremendous effort," a Ubuntu spokesman said.
