The latest version of GoblinX, the liveCD slackware distro that focuses on "a more pleasant and functional desktop [by] standardizing all icons and themes to make it easy for novice users to learn about available applications" , has been released.
The GoblinX Linux project has released version 1.1 of its GoblinX LiveCD Linux distribution, with a "lot of improvements and new stuff, and also new themes for a better visual desktop," the group says.
The most significant improvement in the latest release comes from upgrading to a 2.6.10 Linux kernel, as well as from the inclusion of UnionFS, SquashFS, and Busybox, "a trio that allows more speed and better compression."
GoblinX is a bootable live CD distribution based on Slackware Linux, with the primary goal of creating "a more pleasant and functional desktop [by] standardizing all icons and themes to make it easy for novice users to learn about available applications," according to the project.
