Monday, December 20 2004 @ 04:09 PM EST
Contributed by: glosser

It's time to mention a little known project that is slowly working it's way to 1.0. Many of you, I am sure own a Ipod. This article is for those of you crazy enough to install Linux on it. Yep, you can do it, and these guys will show you how. Well, there is one catch, you may have to be running Mac OS X to do it...

The goal of this project is to create an easy to use GUI program that enables Mac OS X user to install linux on HFS+ formatted iPods. Currently this project supports the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation iPods however this could change according to what developments are made on the iPodLinux kernel.

What's New:
Version 0.3:

* Includes the newest iPodLinux Kernel and podzilla as of Dec 20, 2004.
* Added update system so an entirely new application does not need to be downloaded every time they want to update iPodLinux.
* Added Localization support. Current installed localizations are Simpified Chinese and Japanese. French and German will be completed soon.
