jp2a is a small open source utility that converts JPEG images
to ASCII with given dimensions. You can specify a mixture of files and
URLs. jp2a is very flexible. It can use ANSI colors and HTML in output.
JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for
digital images. The
term "JPEG" is an acronym for the Joint Photographic Experts Group,
which created the standard.
jp2a is written in C. jp2a uses jpeglib to read JPEG files.
