Brushtail is an intranet developed for public libraries, but
can also be used for other applications. It is a PHP application that
runs on open source software.
The intranet was developed to provide a web portal for
library staff to easily access policies and procedures. In
addition to a content management system it includes some custom
applications that include an events and computer bookings. It is
cross platform and runs on software freely available on the Internet.
Brushtail is written in the PHP scripting language.

- Content management system allows the delegation of content
editing by the intranet administrator. Content editors can create
pages, add Images and documents can be uploaded
- Access control defined by the administrator as to what a
user can read and edit
- Intranet content is keyword searchable. Boolean searching
is supported. Search results can include content pages and uploaded
to Librarians' Tools Home Page
