OCRFeeder
OCRFeeder is a free open source software desktop OCR suite for
the GNOME desktop environment. It converts paper documents to digital
document files or makes them
accessible to visually impaired users. OCRFeeder was created to allow
users to easily convert document images (for example, a PNG image with
text) into editable documents (for example, an ODT version with that
text).
OCRFeeder will automatically outline its contents, distinguish
between what is graphics and text and perform OCR over the latter. It
generates multiple formats.
It
features a complete GTK+ graphical user interface that allows the users
to correct any unrecognized characters, defined or correct bounding
boxes, set paragraph styles, clean the input images, import PDFs, save
and load the project, export everything to multiple formats, etc.
OCRFeeder is written in the Python programming language.
