Droid800 is an open source Android port of
Atari800, an Atari 800, 800XL, 130XE and 5200
emulator. Atari800 emulator was originally written by David
Firth in 1995-97.
To use this app, you will need to obtain a real Atari
operating system ROM (called ATARIXL.ROM). This is not supplied with
the app. Atari Corp has given permission for images of Atari 800XL's
operating system and BASIC ROMs to be distributed freely.
- Emulates all Atari 8bit models
- Handles several image formats
- Loads Atari disk, cart, tape images
- Game controls:
- On screen controls
- Hardware DPad
- Mapped keys
- Virtual keyboard
- Key mapping
Droid800 is the best Atari emulator
available for the Android platform although the competition is not that
strong. It has good
performance and reasonable support for ROMs.
