Beebdroid
Beebdroid is an open source emulator of the BBC Micro for the
Android platform. The BBC Micro was a microcomputer built by Acorn and
released in 1981. It was particularly notable for its popularity in
schools, ruggedness, quality of the BASIC language implementation, and
for its expandability.
Features:
- Full keyboard
- Optimised for the specialised controls of the Sony Ericsson
Xperia Play
- Disk files provided by stairwaytohell.com which provides
easy access to gaming titles such as The Hobbit, Chuckie Egg, Elite,
Ghouls, Jet Set Willy, and more
- Works at the full 50 frames per second on most recent
powerful Android phones and tablets
- Save game states
Verdict:
Beebdroid has many redeeming features
including its responsiveness. Playing the groundbreaking Elite game
again was surreal.
7/10
