LHSee
LHSee is an app for the Android platform written to allow you
to see collisions from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The LHC is a gigantic scientific instrument near
Geneva, where
it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100m
underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study
the smallest known particles. It will revolutionise our understanding,
from the minuscule
world deep within atoms to the vastness of the Universe.
Features:
- Find out about more about the
Large Hadron Collider
- Learn how the ATLAS experiment works - ATLAS is a
particle physics experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN
- ATLAS in 3D which shows a completely 3-dimensional
representation of the ATLAS detector
- View live 3D displays of collisions direct from CERN
- Play the "Hunt the Higgs" game
- ;based on the ongoing search for the mysterious Higgs Boson
- Stream 2-D events
- Stream 3-D events
Verdict:
LHSee is designed to help both
experts and non-experts to learn about particle collisions.
