Moonlight
Moonlight is a free Silverlight clone, allowing free software
systems to run embedded web-browser objects or standalone code
targetting Microsoft Silverlight.
Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform, and
cross-device plug-in for delivering the next generation of
.NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications
for the Web.
Moonlight uses Cairo for rendering.
The goals of Moonlight are:
- To run Silverlight applications on Linux
- To provide a Linux SDK to build Silverlight applications
- To reuse the Silverlight engine for desktop applications

- Available for 32 and 64 bit Linux systems
- Provided as a Firefox plugin
- Pluggable media framework
- Out-of-browser support
