FreeNATS
FreeNATS is a PHP
and MySQL
based automatic network status testing, alerting and
reporting package.
FreeNATS allows you to test your network and generate
reporting to give you a bird's eye view of what is happening in your
organisation.
The software is intended to be a lightweight alternative to
other (far superior but more complex) systems. If you are looking for
an
"enterprise-level solution" then FreeNATS is probably not for you and
something like Nagios
which is also free and open source may be a better option.
The system can be configured to evaluate test results against
user defined values to determine the result (you can set the time after
which a web test is deemed to be a warning or a failure) and have
events (optionally including alerts being closed when a service is
restored) notified to you by email in a variety of formats (including
email to SMS compatible).
