Final Thoughts
Out of the eight applications we have considered as part of
this review, we
give our highest recommendation to four of them. Portable
Ubuntu for Windows, VMware Player, VMware Server, and VirtualBox are
truly excellent products.
Portable Ubuntu for Windows is
currently the simplest possible way of trying out a Linux
distribution under Windows without compromising too much on
performance. The two VMware products are polished, robust and
target very different areas. Sun's VirtualBox is also worthy
of the highest praise, as it is a very impressive piece of
virtualization software.
If you are running Windows and have never tried Linux, don't
get left behind.
