Radiant
Radiant is billed as
a no-fluff, fairly friendly, easy to use and customize open source
Content Management System (CMS). It is similar to Textpattern
or
MovableType, but is a general purpose content management system (not
just a blogging engine).
Radiant is limited to basic functionality for a CMS. The
intended users are small groups or teams and therefore the software
leaves room for extensions. All of the content is stored inside a
database (either
MySQL,
PostgreSQL
or SQLite).
Radiant depends, like every Ruby on Rails application, on the
installed adapters for the database.
Features include:
- An elegant user interface
- Flexible templating with layouts, snippets, page parts, and
a custom tagging language
- Extension/plugin system
- Simple user management and permissions
- Simple admin interface centering around three key
components: pages, snippets and layouts
- Support for Markdown and Textile as well as traditional HTML
- Custom text filters
- Intelligent page caching which expires pages every 5 minutes
- Built using Ruby on Rails
