Compiz Fusion

Compiz Fusion

Compiz Fusion is the result of the re-unification of the Beryl-project and the community around the Compiz Window Manager. It seeks to provide an easy and fun-to-use windowing environment, allowing use of the graphics hardware to provide impressive effects, amazing speed and unrivalled usefulness. Technically, it is an OpenGL compositing manager that use GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap for binding redirected top-level windows to texture objects.

Compiz Fusion is a project that aims to add more functionality to Compiz by extending it with more plugins, tools and libraries. It uses Compiz as a base. Among the additions it makes are tools such as CompizConfig Settings Manager, libcompizconfig, and a number of plugins.

It has a flexible plug-in system and it is designed to run well on most graphics hardware.

Compiz Fusion is not intended to be a replacement for Compiz.
