Savage 2

Savage 2: A Tortured Soul

Savage 2: A Tortured Soul is a fantasy and science-fiction themed computer game that combines elements of the first-person shooter, real-time strategy, and action role-playing game genres. It is the sequel to Savage: The Battle for Newerth. A large portion of Savage 2 is the first person shooter aspect. However, this game is not merely about twitch reactions and being the best at killing enemy players.

The setting is a post-apocalyptic world where the Legion of Man and the Beast Horde battle for supremacy. Human units include builders, scouts, savages, legionnaires, chaplains, steambuchet, and battering ram. For the beast horde faction there are conjurers, shape shifters, summoners, predators, shaman, tempests, and behemoth. Each faction has a weapon and a specific play style. Besides the 2 starting races, there is another race known as the Helbourne.

Hellbourne are special units available to both teams. To gain access to them you must build a Sacrificial Shrine over a Scar and earn Souls from killing enemy players. Each Hellbourne unit has a specified soul cost, more souls equals more power.

Part of what makes Savage 2 unique is the role of "commander" - a unit who plays from the real-time strategy perspective and helps organize his team's efforts to defeat the enemy.
