whiptail 0.52.2-10 Whiptail is a "dialog" replacement using newt instead of ncurses. It provides a method of displaying several different types of dialog boxes from shell scripts. This allows a developer of a script to interact with the user in a much friendlier manner.
wireless-tools 28-1 Contains the Wireless tools, used to manipulate the Linux Wireless Extensions. The Wireless Extension is an interface allowing you to set Wireless LAN specific parameters and get the specific stats.
wodim 1.1.2-1 wodim allows you to create CDs or DVDs on a CD/DVD recorder. It supports writing data, audio, mixed, multi-session, and CD+ disc and DVD data and video disks on DVD capable devices, on just about every type of CD/DVD recorder out there.
x11-common 7.1.0-16 X Window System (X.Org) infrastructure. x11-common contains the filesystem infrastructure required for further installation of the X Window System in any configuration; it does not provide a full installation of clients, servers, libraries, and utilities required to run the X Window System.

- xlogo, a demo program that displays the X logo;
- xmag, which magnifies parts of the X screen;
- xman, a manual page browser;
- xmessage, a tool to display message or dialog boxes;
- xrandr, a command-line interface to the RandR extension;
- xrefresh, a tool that forces a redraw of the X screen;
- xsetroot, a tool for tailoring the appearance of the root window;
- xtrapchar, xtrapin, xtrapinfo, xtrapout, xtrapproto, xtrapreset, and
xtrapstats, a group of sample clients that use the XTrap extension;
- xvidtune, a tool for customizing X server modelines for your monitor;
- xwd, a utility for taking window dumps ("screenshots") of the X session;
- xwud, a viewer for window dumps created by xwd;
- oclock and xclock, graphical clocks;
- beforelight, a screen saver;
- atobm, a converter from ASCII to X bitmap (.xbm) files;
- bitmap, a monochrome bitmap file editor;
- bmtoa, a tool that converts a monochrome bitmap to ASCII text;
- cxpm and sxpm, tools for checking and viewing X pixmap files;
- iceauth, a tool for manipulating ICE protocol authorization records;
- xset, a tool for setting miscellaneous X server parameters;
- xmodmap, a utility for modifying keymaps and pointer button mappings in X;
- xsetmode and xsetpointer, tools for handling X Input devices;
- setxkbmap, xkbbell, xkbcomp, xkbevd, xkbprint, xkbvleds, and xkbwatch,
tools for managing the X Keyboard Extension (XKB);
- xsm, a session manager for X sessions;
- smproxy, a session manager proxy for X clients that do not use the X
session manager protocol;
- xgamma, a tool for querying and setting a monitor's gamma correction;
- appres, editres, listres, viewres, and xrdb, which query and update the
X resource database;
- Xmark, x11perf, and x11perfcomp, tools for benchmarking graphical
operations under the X Window System;
- fstobdf, which retrieves a font in BDF format from an X font server;
- xcmsdb, a device color characteristic utility for the X Color Management
- xstdcmap, a utility to selectively define standard colormap properties;
- xev, an X event displayer;
- xfindproxy, a tool to locate X proxy services;
- xlsatoms, which lists interned atoms defined on an X server;
- xlsclients, which lists client applications running on an X display;
- xlsfonts, a server font list displayer;
- xprop, a property displayer for X;
- xdpyinfo, a display information utility for X;
- xwininfo, a window information utility for X;
- xvinfo, an Xv extension information utility for X;
- ico, an X graphics demo using an animated polyhedron;
- dga, a demo program for the DGA extension; and
- xgc, an (unfinished) X graphics demo program.
xbitmaps 1.0.1-2 Contains the base X bitmaps, which are used in many legacy X clients.
xdg-utils 1.0-1 xdg-utils contains utilities for integrating applications with the desktop environment, regardless of which desktop environment is used.
xfonts-75dpi 1.0.0-3 xfonts-75dpi provides a set of bitmapped fonts at 75 dots per inch. In most cases it is desirable to have the X font server (xfs) and/or an X server installed to make the fonts available to X clients.
xfonts-base 1.0.0-4 xfonts-base provides a standard set of low-resolution bitmapped fonts. In most cases it is desirable to have the X font server (xfs) and/or an X server installed to make the fonts available to X clients.
xfonts-encodings 1.0.0-6 Contains the encodings that map to specific characters.
xfonts-utils 1.0.1-1 xfonts-utils provides a set of utility programs shipped with the X Window System that are needed for font management.
xkb-data 0.9-4eeepc1 Contains configuration data used by the X Keyboard Extension (XKB), which allows selection of keyboard layouts when using a graphical interface.
xlex 0.9.2 Longman dictionary is published by XCome Technology and licensed by ASUS Computer.
xml-core 0.09-0.1 Creates the XML infrastructure directories and provides XML catalog file support in compliance with the current Debian XML Policy draft
xserver-xorg-core The X.Org X server is an X server for several architectures and operating systems, which is derived from the XFree86 4.x series of X servers.
xserver-xorg-input-all 7.1.0-16 Depends on the full suite of input drivers for the X.Org X server (Xorg). It does not provide any drivers itself, and may be removed if you wish to only have certain drivers installed.
xserver-xorg-input-evdev 7.1.0-16 Provides the driver for input devices using evdev, the Linux kernel's event delivery mechanism. This driver allows for multiple keyboards and mice to be treated as separate input devices, and matched on physical attributes such as which USB port they're connected to.
xserver-xorg-input-kbd 1.1.0-4 Provides the driver for keyboard input devices.
xserver-xorg-input-mouse 1.1.1-3 Provides the driver for mouse input devices.
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 0.14.7~
This package provides an input driver for the X.Org/XFree86 X server to enable advanced features of the Synaptics Touchpad.
xserver-xorg-input-wacom This package provides the driver for wacom tablet devices.
xserver-xorg-video-i810 2.0.0-5asus3 This is a transitional package providing the Xorg video driver for the Intel i8xx and i9xx family of chipsets, and can be safely removed.
xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0.0-5asus3 This package provides the driver for the Intel i8xx and i9xx family of chipsets, including i810, i815, i830, i845, i855, i865, i915, i945 and i965 series chips.
xserver-xorg-video-vesa 1.3.0-1 This driver for the X.Org X server (see xserver-xorg for a further description) uses the standard VESA interface provided on all video cards, but runs unaccelerated. This driver is not recommended for use unless you have a problem with the normal driver for your card, because it will peform very badly.
xterm 222-1etch2 xterm is a terminal emulator for the X Window System (X.Org). It provides DEC VT102 and Tektronix 4014 compatible terminals for programs that cannot use the window system directly. This version implements ISO/ANSI colors and most of the control sequences used by DEC VT220 terminals.
xutils 7.1.ds.3-1 xutils provides a set of utility programs shipped with the X Window System (X.Org) that do not require the X libraries; many of these programs are useful even on a system that does not have any X clients or X servers installed.
The programs in this package include:
- fslsfonts, a tool that lists fonts served by an X font server;
- luit, a filter that can be run between an arbitrary application and a
UTF-8 terminal emulator;
- rstart, a remote start client;
- rstartd, a remote start daemon activated by rstart connections;
- sessreg, a simple program for managing utmp/wtmp entries;
- showfont, a font dumper for use with an X font server;
- xfsinfo, an X font server information utility;
- xon, a tool that starts an X program on a remote machine.
xutils-dev 7.1.ds-6 xutils-dev provides a set of utility programs shipped with the X Window System that do not require the X libraries; many of these programs are useful even on a system that does not have any X clients or X servers installed.
The programs in this package include:
- ccmakedep, a version of makedepend which "does it right"
- imake, a C preprocessor interface to the make utility;
- lndir, a tool that creates a shadow directory of symbolic links to
another directory tree;
- makedepend, a tool to create dependencies in makefiles;
- makeg, a tool for making debuggable executables;
zenity 2.14.3-1 Zenity allows you to display GTK+ dialogs from shell scripts; it is a rewrite of the `gdialog' command from GNOME 1.
zip 2.32-1 This is InfoZIP's zip program. It produces files that are fully compatible with the popular PKZIP program; however, the command line options are not identical.
zlib1g 1.2.3-13 zlib is a library implementing the deflate compression method found in gzip and PKZIP. This package includes the shared library.
