WengoPhone is a free software SIP* compliant Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) client developed by the OpenWengo community. It lets users speak to other users of SIP compliant VoIP software without charge.

However, WengoPhone is more than just VoIP software: it is a full-fledged communications tool that lets you enjoy free calls, video conferencing, SMS, chat over many existing protocols (MSN, AIM/ICQ, Yahoo!, Jabber)...

* The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) can be used to create two-party, multiparty, or multicast sessions that include Internet telephone calls, multimedia distribution, and multimedia conferences.
