FileZilla
FileZilla is a
multi-platform FTP and SFTP client with lots of useful
features and an intuitive interface.
The software includes a site manager which allows the creation
of a
compilation of FTP sites, with individual setting for port, protocol,
login details, starting directories etc. This functionality is similar
to bookmarking/cookies included with popular web browsers,
saving
time when accessing popular sites.
As the screenshot shows, FileZilla is divided into a
series of window panes. Below the icons sits a message log which
displays console-type output showing the commands sent by FileZilla
and the remote server's responses
The file and folder view, displayed under the message log,
provides
a graphical interface whereby users with file management to locate
files they wish to upload and download, using drag and drop.
The transfer queue, displayed along the bottom of the window,
shows the real-time status of each queued or active file transfer.
