Linux Distribution Guide - Part 4

Linux Distribution Guide

So what distro should I use?

Firstly, that is a difficult question to answer, because the choice of a distro is partly down to personal preference.

However, to aid the selection process we are currently preparing a one page guide for each major Linux distribution, to give a broad overview of its target audience, what key software packages are included, and identifying really useful websites that have specific information about the distro in question. Consider each of them as a starting point for your Linux adventures.

If you have never tried Linux, we would strongly recommend that you try one of the following Live CDs. The links below take you to our portal pages for these distros:
Alternatively, we strongly recommend that you view the portal pages for the following distributions:
Other portal pages that are available (listed in alphabetical order): 64 StudioAbsolute, Arch Linux, Berry Linux, CentOSDevil-Linux, Dreamlinux, dyne:bolic, EdubuntuElive, FreespireFrugalware, Gentoo, GoblinXKanotix, Kubuntu, Lowarch, LinspireMint, NimbleX, Puppy LinuxRedHat Enterprise Linux, SabayonSlackware, SLAXsidux, Ubuntu Christian Edition, XubuntuYellow Dog, Zenwalk.
