Absolute

Absolute LinuxAbout Absolute

Absolute OS is a Slackware derivative Linux distribution that uses an Icewm and ROX-Filer window/file manager combination, or Fluxbox/Fox PathFinder as an alternative. It comes with Firefox, The GIMP, MPlayer, K3B, Azureus, Gaim, Frostwire, Gftp, StarDict, and other software. Several utilities are included to ease configuration and management, and it is compatible with all Slackware 12 packages.  Other features include preconfigured menus/shortcuts, a customized install, and a library of manuals.

Other feature highlights include:
  • Lightweight window & file manager (icewm/ROX_Filer) rather than using feature bloated desktop environments such as KDE or GNOME
  • Customized install
  • Extensive library of manuals for specific applications
