Five Magnificent Linux Music Streaming Clients
Digital streams almost totally command my music listening these days. Over the years I have amassed a large collection of CDs at considerable expense; most of them now sit neglected gathering dust. Almost all music streaming services fall short of the audio quality of CDs, but their popularity has more to do with sheer convenience than high-fidelity sound reproduction.

Jota Text Editor
Jota Text Editor (Jota) is an open source text editor designed for long files up to one million characters in length. It is a good all-round editor, well suited for both programmers and general users.

    Shuriken is an XML-based tool for Linux system administrators to set up spans of time when the system should be up. Using the RTC daily alarm (requires BIOS, hardware, Linux support), the system will automatically power on (if it is off) for these intervals.

  • tracx
    tracx is an appropriate tool for system administrators who need to retrieve any kind of system information via standard Unix shell commands and store the data in an XML based data structure. tracx also supports a CGI mode, which enables tracx to be used for HTML page generation. To use tracx, you should be familiar with the Unix shell and with the concept of XML and general programming concepts. tracx is also a more complex programming example for the usage of the dragon parser generator.

    TraxAuth is a Web-based user account registration, management, and maintenance system. It currently features a preliminary backend which performs the synchronization of users between the software's database and a htpasswd file.

    Two-Spot is a Web-based business administration system that runs on a LAMP stack. It is built specifically to be adapted to local needs.

    a collection of tools to manage Ucron from a central point. The program ucronadm is used from the command line and ucroncgi allows the crontabs to be administered from a web browser

    unattended-gui is a system to support unattended installations of Linux and Windows on multiple machines. It is also a collection of scripts for inventory, uninstallation, and other add-ons like dhcp-ldap, php-ssh, samhain, syslog-ng, switch managment, and an LDAP browser.
  • Usermin
    Usermin is a web interface that can be used by any user on a Unix system to easily perform tasks like reading mail, setting up SSH or configuring mail forwarding. It can be thought of as a simplified version of Webmin designed for use by normal users rather than system administrators.
  • viewgit
    ViewGit is a git Web repository viewer that aims to be easy to set up and upgrade, light on dependencies, and comfortable to use.
  • Virtualmin
    Virtualmin is a Webmin module that simplifies the process of setting up and managing virtual servers. It can create Apache virtual hosts, BIND DNS domains, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and set up Sendmail or Postfix to accept email for a domain. It can also manage mailboxes and mail aliases within a domain.
  • w3pw
    w3pw is a web based password wallet manager written in PHP. The encrypted information is stored in a MySQL database.
  • WAPcontrol
    WAPcontrol is a fully-featured system administration tool for wireless devices. Included is the ability to configure at-a-glance status monitoring of services, start/restart services, run user-specified commands, and reboot a server. Written in WML/PHP.
  • web-chpass
    web-chpass allows users to change their account password through the web. This package was written with security and flexibility as the primary concerns--and in that order. It runs on systems that use PAM to manage user authorisations.
  • web-cp
    web-cp is a full-featured, open source web hosting control panel written in PHP and released under the GPL.
  • web-cyradm
    web-cyradm is a management-tool written in PHP, for a mail system built on Cyrus IMAP and Postfix with MySQL table lookup enabled.
  • webadmin.php
    webadmin.php is a simple Web-based file manager that is useful for applying changes to a Web account quickly. It can show, create, delete and move files and directories, copy, edit and upload files, help to manage htaccess and htpasswd, and change permissions of files and folders. Supported languages are English and German.
