The release of quality commercial titles such as Left 4 Dead 2, Portal, and Day of Defeat bring real credibility to Linux as a first-class gaming platform. The bid to lure gamers away from Microsoft's platform has also been strengthened, in part, due to the official launch of Steam for the Linux operating system back on February 14.

Emperor strives to bring this style of file management nto the modern nGNOME desktop by using GIO and GVfs, the technologies that are used in Nautilus and across the GNOME desktop to access the file system.
  • Filecentral
    Filecentral is a filesystem browser and file manager. It uses the navigational model of the OSX finder, but tries to integrate into the GNOME Desktop. It uses gnome-vfs and is thus also able to manage remote files.
  • gfile
    gfile is a file manager for Linux which is based on Gtk/Gnome and is a tree like explorer (under Windows 95).
  • GFileRunner
    a GNOME-based file manager aimed to be a nicer, faster, and more powerful replacement for the current popular file manager, Nautilus
