Wget GNU wget is a free software package for retrieving files using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, the most widely-used Internet protocols. The name is derived from the Hungarian word ugyanaz, meaning the same. The development of ua was motivated by the disturbingly often recurring event of waiting too long for a shell script using sorts, md5sums, diffs, and the like to finish finding identical files. udevil udevil is a command line Linux program which mounts and unmounts removable devices without a password, shows device info, and monitors device changes. ui ui is a user information utility that can display user information, list users from a given UID (or UID 500 by default), add a user to a group, rename a user along with his home directory and update his home directory files to reflect that change, list expired or locked users, change the shell for a user, and list users in an existing group. umv umv renames existing users, changing their home directory and updating all system files. It also searches the users home directory for configuration files and changes the path information in them as well. It keeps a log of the files changed for each user. Undelete Utilities Undelete Utilities provides undelete capabilities for the Extended-2 Filesystem in Linux. unieject unieject is a drop-in replacement for usual eject command, which works on Linux and FreeBSD. It has more functionalities than FreeBSD's eject command, and it's partially compatible with Linux's one. It works differently. It?s designed to be different. userinfo Userinfo is a console utility to display a variety of information about a local user. It uses loadable modules to perform different tasks which separate the output with a field deliminator. Some may find it useful in shell scripts to gather information which might be tedious by other methods. utfout utfout is a command-line tool that can produce UTF-8 (Unicode) strings in various ways and direct them to standard output, standard error or direct to the terminal without the need for shell support. VeryNice VeryNice is a tool for dynamically adjusting the nice-level of processes under UNIX-like operating systems. It can also be used to kill off runaway processes and increase the priority of multimedia applications, while properly handling both batch computation jobs and interactive applications with long periods of high CPU usage. Virt-df Virt-df is a df implementation for virtual guests. The program is meant to be run on the host or dom0 to display disk space used and available on all partitions within all guests. There is no need to run any software or agent inside the guests. It is compatible with most Linux and Windows guests. Virt-top Virt-top is a top-like utility for showing statistics of virtualized domains. Many keys and command line options are the same as for ordinary top. WeedIt weedit is a file duplicate scanner with database support. It uses CRC32, MD5, and file size to scan for duplicates. Files that are deleted are automatically removed from the database when a duplicate is found. It will only rescan files if the creation time or last write time change. It will only delete duplicated files if the parameter for deleting is used. wgrab wgrab is an http file fetcher similar to wget that is designed to be small, fast, and cross platform compatible natively. Xin Xin reads from standard input splitting the data up into sections. Each section is piped into a command separately. xjobs xjobs reads job descriptions line by line and executes them in parallel. It limits the number of parallel executing jobs and starts new jobs when jobs finish. Therefore, it combines the arguments from every input line with the utility and arguments given on the command line. If no utility is given as an argument to xjobs, then the first argument on every job line will be used as utility. To execute utility xjobs searches the directories given in the PATH environment variable and uses the first file found in these directories. zshist zshist is a simple python script to read .zsh_history written with EXTENDED_HISTORY option, and display the timestamp in a human-readable format. As a bonus it can colourise the output.
