  • ag
ag performs automatic, command-line grab of images by SBIG ST-x CCD cameras.
  • AstroBuffer
AstroBuffer is a CCD astrophotography image manipulation application. It can open FITS and SBIG (st9) files. Contrast is adjustable to view different backgrounds and ranges of an image. It can scale, shift, rotate, and zoom in and out. Images can be aligned based on two star alignment, and can be summed, subtracted, averaged, and divided. RGB color images can be created from three images. Images can be saved as FITS or as any format that KDE supports.
  • Dither
The Drizzle task has been incorporated into a larger package of STSDAS tasks related to dithering. The package is called "dither". In addition to Drizzle, the dither package contains tasks designed to help one align images taken at different pointings or rotation angles.
  • eclipse
eclipse is an ANSI C library, focused mainly on image and 1d signal processing, with emphasis on infrared and visible images and spectra. The algorithms used in this library have usually nothing specific to astronomy, they gather the know-how in the field of image and signal processing and attempt to make them useful to write astronomical data processing programs.
  • ETHZ-Zebra
ZEBRA combines and extends several of the classical approaches to produce accurate photometric redshifts down to faint magnitudes. In particular, it uses the template-fitting approach to produce Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian redshift estimates.
  • ISIS
ISIS is a complete package to process CCD images using the image subtraction method.
  • Lynkeos
Lynkeos is an application dedicated to the processing of astronomical (mainly planetary) images taken with a webcam through a telescope.
  • SAOImage DS9
SAOImage DS9 is an astronomical imaging and data visualization application. DS9 supports FITS images and binary tables, multiple frame buffers, region manipulation, and many scale algorithms and colormaps. It provides for easy communication with external analysis tasks and is highly configurable and extensible.
  • stecf
This package contains several subpackages. One contains a variety of image restoration algorithms including multiple channel and photometric variants of the Richardson Lucy method. In addition a wholly new package ("impol") for the reduction of polarimetric imaging from HST (and ground-based instruments) is made available for the first time. Software for the post-pipeline processing of HST NICMOS data, with particular emphasis on the association and pre-processing of images to be used for grism spectral extraction, and finally a general purpose grism spectral extraction tool are also included.
  • SWarp
SWarp is a program that resamples and co-adds together FITS images using any arbitrary astrometric projection defined in the WCS standard
  • WCSTools
WCSTools is a package of programs and a library of utility subroutines for setting and using the world coordinate systems (WCS) in the headers of the most common astronomical image formats, FITS and IRAF .imh, to relate image pixels to sky coordinates.
  • WeightWatcher
WeightWatcher is a program that combines weight-maps, flag-maps and polygon data in order to produce control maps which can directly be used in astronomical image-processing packages like Drizzle, Swarp or SExtractor.
