xmcd
Xmcd is a full-featured CD Player and Ripper software package. It includes two programs: xmcd - for the X window system using the Motif® graphical user interface and cda - a shell command-line utility which also features a curses-based, screen-oriented mode. Xmcd supports CD recognition via Gracenote CDDB®. It can connect to the CDDB servers on the Internet to get the artist, disc title, song titles and other information about the CD you're playing.

  • pdfposter
    pdfposter allows you to scale and tile PDF images/pages to print on multiple pages. It works much like 'poster' does for Postscript files, but working with PDF, since sometimes poster does not like files converted from PDF.
  • pdfrecycle
    pdfrecycle creates a PDF file by composing pages from other PDF files. It lets you define PDF bookmarks or put multiple logical pages onto each physical sheet of paper. pdfrecycle uses a simple text file format to define the layout and what pages to include. From this input file, pdfrecycle creates a LaTeX file and then runs pdflatex to produced the PDF file.

    PDFResurrect is a tool aimed at analyzing PDF documents. The PDF format allows for previous document changes to be retained in a more recent version of the document, thereby creating a running history of changes for the document.

    SohoVoice is a voice mail system for linux, written in Perl, that uses vgetty. The vision is a complete voice-mail solution, which is accessed over the web using realplayer for the audio messages.
  • The WollMux
    The WollMux is an OpenOffice.org plugin with enhanced template, form, and autotext functionality. It can construct templates on the fly from multiple files (e.g. letterhead, footer, and body text) and will fill in personal and organizational data from various databases such as LDAP. An extra form GUI presents fields in an easily navigable manner and offers plausibility checks and computed values to ease filling in the form. Chainable printing functions allow various transformations during print and custom dialogs.

    Whyteboard is a painting whiteboard application that allows the annotation of PDFs, PostScript documents, and various image formats with common drawing tools (pen, rectangles, ellipses, and text).
  • wiipdf
    wiipdf is a tiny tool to present a PDF using xpdf and your Wiimote. You start it by providing it the bluetooth ID of your Wiimote (use hcitool scan to get it) and the path to the PDF you want to present. wiipdf then tries to connect to your Wiimote (press buttons 1 and 2 at the sime time on your Wiimote to enter discoverable mode). As soon as the connection is established (usually 3-4 seconds), wiipdf launches xpdf with the given filename. You can now press A or B on your Wiimote to go forward or backward one slide. Pressing the home button ends the presentation. Each keypress is confirmed by a short rumble.
