OpenELEC uses very little system resources for processor or memory. There's no need to use any special customization tips to get good performance with the RPi2. There's also no need to overclock the machine, reduce the resolution of videos, or use a different skin (although I really like the Amber skin).

    a fast, lightweight indexer for SMB shares in the LAN. It provides web-based search and browse functionality, as well as an optional IRC interface via eggdrop
  • SmbSync
    SmbSync is a program to move files between Unix and Windows shares directly, avoiding the need for mounts or extra services like FTP or Rsync.
  • smbtad
    smbtad is the data receiver of the SMB Traffic Analyzer project.
  • smbtatools
    The smbtatools represent the end user tools for the SMB Traffic Analyzer project. With SMB Traffic Analyzer, the network traffic caused on a Samba network can be statistically analyzed.
  • ssh-multiadd
    ssh-multiadd adds multiple ssh keys that may use the same passphrase to the ssh authentication agent. When run without arguments, it adds $HOME/.ssh/identity and $HOME/.ssh/id_dsa.

    surma stands for Samba user manager. It is a very simple and tiny CGI script that provides a Web interface for changing Samba passwords stored in an smbpasswd file. Originally, surma was designed for ALT Linux distributions.
  • Threaded-Samba-Scanner
    Threaded-Samba-Scanner scans all available local subnets for Samba hosts and shows their names and IP addresses.
  • TkSmb
    provides you with a graphical interface for browsing Samba shares
  • VASC
    Very Advanced Samba Configuration: a set of configuration files for Samba which support a numerous amount of features. (samba maxed out) This set of configuration files is released under the General Public License
  • WinShares
    WinShares scans the network and mounts all Windows and Samba shares available, allowing the user to browse them. It uses CIFS and it's writen in shell script.
  • Xffm-samba
    Xffm-samba is a Samba network navigator plugin pfor the Xffm-filemanager. It was previously known as Xfsamba.
  • xSMBrowser
    xSMBrowser is a GUI over the Samba Utilities that looks a lot like Network Neighborhood. It aids in browsing through the computers, shares, and files of Broadcast and WINS networks.
  • Yerfit
    a media cataloging, searching, and downloading engine. Yerfit is written in Perl and only requires that the individuals running it have a mysql database, smbclient, and nmblookup installed on their machine
