  • ASFRecorder
    ASFRecorder is a tool to download and store WindowsMedia streaming content to your hard drive. The resulting files can be viewed as often as you wish. The files can also be copied without any physical restriction.

    cPige is a tool for webradios that want to backup their stream on a 1 day period.
  • dvbyell
    dvbyell is a streaming solution for DVB(-S/-S2/-C/-T). It will read streams from Linux DVB devices (/dev/dvb/*) and send them to the network using UDP multicast. This kind of software is often referred to as "DVB to IP gateway" or "IPTV server".
  • fIcy
    fIcy is an icecast/shoutcast stream grabber suite for use under shell environment. Its goal is to cleanly and automatically rip a stream into user customisable files. It will work with any ICY compatible stream, allowing you to either to save the stream to disk or to pipe the output to a media player, or even both. fIcy, among other uses, is ideal for batch/unattended recording of radio programs and stream debugging.
  • GMiMMS
    GMiMMS is a GTK+ frontend for MiMMS, a multimedia stream ripper. It is easy to enter the MMS-URL and the output file. You can also record live streams by setting the recording length in GMiMMS.
  • KMP
    KMP is an MPD client that uses the QT GUI toolkit so it will comfortably fit in with your KDE desktop, although only QT is required. MPD is a daemon that runs in the background and accepts connections from clients which can then tell MPD what to do. KMP aims to be a full featured and easy-to-use client. KMP will allow you to browse the server's collection, add songs to the playlist, change the volume, etc.
  • mimd
    mimd is a tool for streaming MP3 and MPEG media using multicast and the realtime transport protocol (RTP).
  • MiMMS
    MiMMS isn't an MMS Message Sender (it's an MMS (e.g. mms://) stream downloader). MiMMS is a program designed to allow you to download streams using the MMS protocol and save them to your computer, as opposed to watching them live.
  • mp32rtp
    mp32rtp is a C program for streaming MPEG audio over RTP without complicated configuration of a streaming server. Unicast, multicast, and broadcast are possible as well as streaming from a file, randomly ordered from a directory, or from an MPEG Internet radio station. All versions, layers, and bit rates of MPEG are supported, and they can even change in the middle of the stream.
  • Radio404
    Radio404 is a request-based dynamic playlist and file retrieval engine for Internet streaming radio schemes.
  • realcap
    realcap is a bash utility to help with capturing streams from realplayer.
  • SQLshout
    SQLshout is a Shoutcast compatible streaming source client which uses a SQL database as its source for playlist generation. Using a SQL database allows for interaction with web applications like PHP Nuke.
  • TheLastRipper
    TheLastRipper can save Last.fm streams to MP3s while downloading the album cover, appending ID3v1 tags, and organizing your music by artist/album/track.
  • Vatata
    Vatata is an end-to-end and large-scale solution for publishing, delivering, and receiving streaming content. This platform is an open system completely based on the Internet. Its grid and P2P technology provide low-cost and clear delivery of content to millions of Internet users. Users can easily build their individual Internet radio stations or TV stations through Vatata.
  • Warsaw Pakt
    Warsaw Pakt is a software system for network-aware media processing applications on the GNU/Linux architecture. It leverages the gstreamer graph-based media processing framework by providing a network-transparent XML-based access infrastructure.
