  • BassMOD
BASSMOD is a MOD only (XM, IT, S3M, MOD, MTM, UMX) version of BASS - useful for demos, or anything else where you want to play some MOD music. BASSMOD uses the MultiMedia drivers on Windows platforms, the OSS drivers on Linux, and the Core Audio on Mac OSX, so no special libraries or drivers are required to be installed. C/C++, Visual Basic, Delphi and MASM APIs are included. A basic example player is also included.
  • CDXA
CDXA is an Audio XA file decoder/player that has interfaces for text mode and X windows using the GTK widget set. It enables you to play your favorite non-"Audio CD" music from within your favorite Playstation games' files.
  • CheeseTracker
CheeseTracker is intended to be an Impulse Tracker clone.
  • FunktrackerGOLD
Compared to SoundTracker Jason Nunn's FunkTrackerGOLD is "Old School" all the way, with an interface and style that betrays its MS-DOS heritage. Its user interface is strictly text-mode, and the program lacks all the modern features (such as MIDI input, a plugin system, or support for Jack) found in newer trackers. So why is it included in AGNULA ? Despite its obvious limitations FunkTrackerGOLD is a very powerful tracker, quite simple to use once its command set is learned, and it is the best console-mode tracker available to Linux.
  • GMedia
GMedia is a Gnome compliant media player. It currently only supports module files (i.e. .mod, .xm, .s3m, etc) but I hope to add support for mpeg3, wav and au audio formats and maybe animations/movies through xanim at some point.
  • GModplay
GModplay is a mod file player for Linux based on the sound engine from ModPlug that is distributed under the GNU General Public Licence.
  • gtkmod
gtkmod is a MOD, s3m and xm player with a GTK interface. The module player code is separated from the interface and exists as a static libary. This has made it easy to create other interfaces for the player. An ncurses version, a gtk version and a qt version have been made.
  • Impulse Tracker 3
Impulse Tracker 3 is a music tracker, easy to learn and full of features.
  • insoTracker
insoTracker is an Impulse Tracker 2.xx compatible tracker that is seeking 100% compatibility, written from scratch. It uses the MikMod library; it is currently developed with libmikmod 3.1.9. Features include: Loads all IT modules, edits tracks; note, instrument #, volume, effect and effect value editing are implemented, using the very same behavior as Impulse Tracker itself, track browsing, and has a play status window.
  • KegTracker
KegTracker is a GTK-based mod music editor that is no longer active.
  • kmodbox
kmodbox is a module player for KDE based on MikMod. It features direct file browsing and playlists.

ksidplayer is a KDE frontend to sidplay, the music player and C64 SID chip emulator.
  • maube
maube was the first music module tracker/editor for X11 that is no longer being developed.
  • MikMod
MikMod is an extremly portable mod player. Originally a fairly complete set of routines written in C to play back MOD-type files in MS-DOS, this very portable code became very popular with many programmers for it's support of various formats including XM, MOD, MTM, S3M, STM, ULT and UNI.
  • MikMod Utilities
MikMod Utilities is a collection of command line tools for manipulating the module sound files that typically produced by Soundtracker, Protracker and other tools.
  • ModPlugLine
ModPlugLine is a module player that runs in the console and outputs to the audio device using OSS. It features high quality sound through the use of the ModPlug engine.
  • modplugplay
modplugplay is a command line player for many music modules (669, amf, ams, dbm, dmf, dsm, far, it, j2b, mdl, med mod, mt2, mtm, okt, psm, ptm, s3m, stm, ult, umx, and xm) using the libmodplug library.
  • MP and NMP
MP and NMP are free music module players for Linux. They are able to play 18 module formats (such as mod, s3m, xm and it). MP features real volume gauges, sound effects control, various options, easy-to-manage playing lists and more. NMP has the same features as MP.
  • Rapid Audio Tracker
Rapid Audio Tracker is a audio tool designed for the Linux system using the Open Sound System (OSS). Rapid Audio Tracker is quite similar to the ancient but legendary Fast Tracker, but with one major element different, Rapid Audio Tracker is specifically designed for real time design. Mapping the keyboard to specific instruments and scrolling a real time display allows for instant development. Rapid Audio Tracker then can tweak anything you've done in real time in a logic display.
  • Sakuraplayer
Sakuraplayer is a Qt/KDE-based frontend for the command-line TFMX-player, "tfmx-play" (which is included). It plays lots of popular Amiga game music.
  • SIDPLAY/Linux
SIDPLAY/Linux is a music player distributed under the GPL.
  • SIDPlayer
SIDPlayer is a replayer program for C64 music (?SID tunes?) for BeOS and Unix. You can think of it as being a stripped-down C64 emulator that only emulates the processor and the sound chip of the C64. SIDPlayer can be used as a stand-alone player or, under BeOS, as a plug-in for CL-Amp and SoundPlay. Under Linux it also supports the SID option of the Catweasel MK3 PCI card.
  • simplemod
simplemod is a minimalistic module player. It was designed to be used by a frontend and thus it's output is easy to parse.
  • TFMX-PLAY
TFMX-PLAY is an SDL-based command-line player for TFMX music files.
  • TinySID
TinySID is the smallest SID player available. Its most advantage lies in its unique HardSID support.
  • Xgmod
Xgmod is a module player with an X interface for Linux. It requires a GUS card or an AWE card and version 3.0 or later of the OSS/Free (USS/Lite, VoxWare, TASD) driver. A non-X version is also included in the distribution. Module formats that are supported include MOD, 669, XM, MTM, S3M, and ULT.
  • XSIDPLAY
XSIDPLAY is a graphical front-end for libsidplay.
  • Xsoundtrack
Xsoundtrack is a soundtracker to create XM modules. It is no longer being developed.
  • zgsmplay
zgsmplay is a curses-based real-time GSM file player with file selector. (GSM is a lossy sound compression format ideal for speech.) In addition to simply playing the files, zgsmplay lets you move around them, etc., and can cope with large samples (of up to 2GB, i.e. about two weeks).
