Grip Grip is a cd-player and cd-ripper for the Gnome desktop. It has the ripping capabilities of cdparanoia builtin, but can also use external rippers (such as cdda2wav). It also provides an automated frontend for MP3 (and other audio format) encoders, letting you take a disc and transform it easily straight into MP3s. When Grip encodes mp3 files, it will place all of the song information into an SQL database. MPMAN MPMAN is a GUI (lesstif) frontend program that uses a backend program built by the Snowblind Alliance. The GUI provides similar functionality to what one would get from the windows software supplied with the unit. This software should run on any Linux release and is Open Source GPL. Mr. Voice Mr. Voice is a GUI frontend for the MP3 database used at The Great American Comedy Company. MyBaD MyBaD is a rewrite of Mike Oliphant's DigitalDJ. It provides a database storage facility for Grip and a graphic interface for generating MP3 playlists through SQL queries. NRip NRip is a front-end to CDDA rippers and MP3 encoders. PLWarlock Playlist Warlock is a text-based front-end for mpg123, written in Perl. It is intended to provide users with the playlist browsing and song selection of a gui mp3 player from any terminal. Qbble Qbble is a playlist manager based on Qt. It uses libxmms to connect to a running XMMS session, and display the current playlist in a more manageable format. ripperX ripperX is a GTK program to rip CD audio and encode mp3s. It can rip and encode in parallel and has plugins for cdparanoia, BladeEnc, Lame, GoGo, FHG (l3enc and mp3enc), XingMp3enc, 8hz-mp3, and the ISO encoder. It also has support for CDDB and ID3 tags. TEAR T.E.A.R. It is a small X application that will also work as a windowmaker dock app. ximp3shell ximp3shell is a simple Tcl/Tk GUI for ximp3. You need Tcl/Tk version 8.3 or higher to run this program. YumfK Yumfk is a frontend for the mpg audio player mpg123, the mikmod module player library and mysql. Future versions may include support for sids.
