  • clavier
    clavier is a program for the X window system that emits MIDI note-on/note-off messages when you press the keys of a on-screen piano keyboard with the mouse. You can also use your computer keyboard, like in a tracker program.
  • eplaymidi
    eplaymidi is an enhanced version of playmidi. This program can playback Standard MIDI File and Recomposer RCP/R36/G18/G36 format file.
  • fXPlayMidi
    fXPlayMidi is an X front end to the playmidi program. It also manages "Album's" of .mid and .au files.
  • kmid
    kmid is a Midi/Karaoke player for Linux/X11/KDE. KMid displays the text of karaoke files and change its colour as it is being played so that the tune can be easily followed. It uses /dev/sequencer as output device supporting external synths, AWE , GUS and now also FM cards.
  • piano
    Play music using a dumb midi keyboard and an AWE soundcard.
  • playmidi
    Playmidi is a curses and X11-based MIDI file player for Linux. It supports playback to any OSS-supported synth device including external MIDI.
  • pmidi
    The pmidi program is a straightforward command line program to play midi files through the ALSA sequencer.
  • simsam
    Simsam is a simple MIDI sample playback program. You can use it to play drum samples and loops from a MIDI keyboard or sequencer. It relies on ALSA and JACK, as well as QT for the gui.
  • srgplay
    srgplay is a MIDI file player supporting a variety of formats.
  • Widi
    Widi is a Midi Player for Advanced Linux Sound Architecture(ALSA)/Open Sound System(OSS).
  • WildMidi
    WildMidi is a software midi play which has a core softsynth library that can be use with other applications. The library is designed to process a midi file and stream out the stereo audio data through a buffer which an external program can then process further.
