Digital streams almost totally command my music listening these days. Over the years I have amassed a large collection of CDs at considerable expense; most of them now sit neglected gathering dust. Almost all music streaming services fall short of the audio quality of CDs, but their popularity has more to do with sheer convenience than high-fidelity sound reproduction.

MythTV
MythTV is a GPL licensed suite of programs that allow you to build the mythical home media convergence box on your own using Open Source software and operating systems. MythTV has a number of capabilities. The television portion allows you to do the following: You may pause, fast-forward and rewind live television. You may install multiple video capture cards to record more than one program at a time. You can have multiple servers, each with multiple capture cards in them. All servers are centrally managed and all programs are scheduled by the Master backend. Read more

    Gcover is a CD cover editor for GNOME. You can add pictures and text to the pages of the cover, and print the covers to postscript files or to printers. There are several picture and text manipulating options available.

    gtkcdlabel is a GUI frontend to cdlabelgen which is a program that can generate a variety of CD tray covers. The code is based on gcombust and gcdlabelgen.
  • Hovergen
    Hovergen is a console utility for an automated generation of CD covers from a disc database.
  • Kccc
    Kccc is a KDE-Application which creates cd-rom covers for data-cds in LaTeX-Format or as a postscript-file. Features: User definable Title, Subtitle, Backcover and Sidetext and support for multi-disc sets. Its also posible to create, view and print the Postscript files.
  • KCDLabel
    KCDLabel is a KDE program used to create covers, labels and booklets for your CD cases. It was made with KDevelop and it uses QT 1.44, QT-Image IO extensions library and KDE libraries.
  • kover
    Kover is an easy to use WYSIWYG CD cover printer with CDDB support. It has CDDB & proxy support, image embedding, and French, German, Polish, Italian, Spanish and Norwegian translation available.
