  • GSendMail
    GSendMail is a simple standalone mail composition tool for Unix. It lets you fill in From, To, CC, and Subject, and compose a text/plain message in a fixed-width text area with word-wrap. It does a fair amount of sanity checking, but other than that, it is frill-free: no HTML, no attachments, no address book.
  • gtkmail
    gtkmail is a GUI email client for X, written in C++ using the gtkmm widget set. It is fully MIME compliant, and supports standard UNIX mbox style mail files.
  • Hep Messaging Server
    Hep is a multiprotocol message server. It offers on-the-fly translation between email protocols (POP and IMAP) and web formats and protocols (RSS, Atom, and the Metaweblog API). Hep lets you read and write the Web from the comfort of your favorite email client or newreader.
  • Mahogany
    Mahogany is an OpenSource cross-platform mail and news client. It is available for X11/Unix and MS Win32 platforms, supporting a wide range of protocols and standards, including SMTP, POP3, IMAP, NNTP (including SSL support for all of them) and full MIME support.
  • MMC
    MMC is a Mail Client, written in C++, for Gnome. Features include: a single window interface, two pane view for multiple mailboxes, POP3 & SMTP support.
  • paranoy
    paranoy is a fast, light, open-source but overall safe mail client. It includes ssl and gpg support, it saves encrypted mailbox and configuration files. It has a text mode interface based on ncurses and a graphical one based on gtk.
  • PMail
    PMail is an email client written (almost) entirely in python using pygtk and gnome-python for the user interface. Features include: Mail filtering, Plugin support, IMP4, POP3 accounts, MH Mailboxes, drag and drop, and more.
  • Pronto!
    Pronto! is a highly modularized GTK Mail Client written in Perl that features full MBOX and QMaildir support. It has Multiple POP3 Account support, very configurable and hyperlinks that work.
  • Pygmy
    Pygmy is a GNOME mail client written in the Python programming language. Pygmy supports attachments and MIME messages, both in the message composer and in the message viewer. Yet, Pygmy is still pretty basic and will be most suitable for users that do not process more than 10-20 messages per day.
  • Spruce
    An X11 mail user agent (commonly known as an email client) written with the Gtk+ widget set. It is geared towards being extremely small and fast, supporting all the common features that users want or need without sacrificing usability or functionality.
  • SQmaiL
    A MUA (mail user agent), written in Python, that stores all of its messages in a MySQL database, using Gnome. It can handle very large mail databases (>10000 messages) very quickly and easy, and can create VFolders based on SQL queries to painlessly sort your mail archive.
  • TradeClient
    TradeClient is a fully featured E-Mail client with support for SMTP, POP3, Full IMAP, LDAP support for a global address book (anonymous and authenticated) unlimited private address books, todo lists, a personal calendar, spell checking support.
  • XFMail
    After one year without development of the XForms based Unix email client XFMail, the coding has started again. The GTK is supposed to be the toolkit of choice and so we will take XFMail's core, restructure it, and port it to the Gimp ToolKit.
