    gtkmsn is a msn protocol based client (alla Win*ows Mes*enger). Based upon gtk+-2.0 it provides all basic functionnality, plus a lot of goodies, like custom definitions of smiley (see screenshots)
  • gtmess
    gtmess is a console MSN Messenger client for Linux and other Unix systems that conform to the POSIX standard. It supports the MSNP8 protocol version. Apart from the basics (file transfers and chat windows), it introduces some advanced features like block detection and spoofing the typing user. A transparent HTTP gateway is also included.
  • Harbinger
    Harbinger is an MSN messenger client that is compatible with the .NET Messenger Service. It uses the Qt toolkit, distributed under the BSD license.
  • imsniff
    imsniff is a pcap-based instant messaging sniffer. It captures the IM traffic in the network and is able to log conversations, contact lists, profile information, incoming email notifications, other MSN events, etc.
  • KMess
    KMess is a MSN Messenger clone for KDE. Includes font support, emoticons, and the ability to switch the contact list between "by group" and "by online/offline", among other things.
  • Linux MSN Messenger Engine
    LMME (Linux MSN Messenger Engine) is a fully asynchronous, multithreaded MSN protocol engine. Preliminary releases will be statically combined with an ncurses console-based EPIC4-like interface for instant messaging functionality.

    The MSNCP is a complete client for the MSN network. It doesn't require any installation and features a Curses interface.

    This is an opensource Python implementation for the MSN messenger protocol version 8. Along with the library, you can find a text-mode client named msn, which has a simple user interface that resembles to micq.

    msnp.py is an implementation of the MSN instant messaging protocol; a library, packaged as a Python module, with a smooth object-oriented API.
  • MSNre
    MSNre is a lightweight but powerful console-based MSN Instant Messenger clone. It has easy-to-use curses BitchX-like user interface and many features, including instant messaging, file transfer, complete contact list management, and pager messages.
  • pebrot
    Pebrot is a text mode MSN messenger client implemented in Python. It has a colorful curses interface.
