rxvt
rxvt is a colour vt102 terminal emulator intended as an xterm(1) replacement for users who do not require features such as Tektronix 4014 emulation and toolkit-style configurability. As a result, rxvt uses much less swap space.

    FBZX is a Sinclair Spectrum emulator, designed to work at full screen using the FrameBuffer. Its main features are: emulates acurately the Original spectrum (both issue 2 and issue 3), the classic 128K, the Amstrad Plus 2 and the Amstrad Plus 2A. This include screen, keyboard and sound (both speaker and AY-3-8912 chip), screen emulation is extremely accurate, so it can emulate border efects and even attribute efects, Z80, TAP, and TZX support.     Speccy emulates the once popular Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer, its upgraded versions, and its clones. It emulates 16kB, 48kB, and 128kB versions of Sinclair ZX Spectrum, as well as Spectrum +2, +2A, and +3, as well as the Timex Sinclair models. Read more
  • Spectemu
    Spectemu emulates the 48k ZX Spectrum, which uses the Z80 microprocessor. It is free software, and is distributed under the GNU General Public License. It emulates the Z80 processor as well as the 48k Spectrum's other hardware: keyboard, screen, sound, tape I/O. The emulation is very close to the real thing, but it is still quite fast. Read more

    A spectrum emulator for Unix and X11.
  • XZX
    (commercial) XZX-Pro is a portable emulator of ZX Spectrum 48K/128K/+3 (8-bit home computers made by Sir Clive Sinclair) and Spectrum clones, for machines running UNIX and the X Window system. XZX-Pro is completely written in C. It initially was based on XZX 1.0.2 by Des Herriott, but has been completely rewritten since then. Features include: Emulation of ZX Spectrum 48K, 128K, +2 and +3, Pentagon and Scorpion, Didaktik, Interface I with up to 8 microdrives, Multiface 1, Multiface 128 and Multiface 3, ZX Printer, Sinclair, Cursor and Kempston joysticks. It also handles .SNA, .Z80, .SLT, .DAT, .TAP, .TZX, .VOC, .MDR, .DSK, .TRD, .FDI, .SCL, HOBETA, .MGT, .IMG and .D80 formats.
  • z81
    z81 is a Sinclair ZX81 (aka TS1000) emulator. The ZX80 can also be emulated. There are actually two versions - z81 (for svgalib), and xz81 (for X). Also included are zx81get (a ZX81 tape reader), and saverom (a program to save the ROM from a ZX81). Read more
  • Z88Transfer
    Z88transfer is a graphical utility to transfer files between a PC and a Z88 computer, an old but great 8-bit portable computer from Clive Sinclair. Z88transfer has been written in Python and uses PyGTK. It's designed to work under Linux, but should work in Windows and MacOS X with very little (if any) modifications
  • ZxLink
    ZxLink handles sound and serial up and downloading. The current version is only able to download raw binary, tape (.TAP/.TZX) and snapshot (.SNA/.Z80) files.
  • zxsp
    zxsp is a simulator for the historic ZX Spectrum home computer family. zxsp supports ".sna" and ".z80" snapshot files, ".tap" tape files, excellent sound, precise screen and border effects, a virtual tape recorder and virtual keyboards.zxsp supports machines from issue 1 to issue 4, the +128, +2, preliminary suport for Timex TS2048 and the Russian Pentagon.
