    Kate is a multi document editor, based on a rewritten version of the kwrite editing widget of KDE, offering all the features of that plus a bunch of its own. Kate has been been moved to the kdebase package, and is a builtin part of your favorite desktop since release 2.2. Being a native KDE application, Kate is of course born with networking transparency, as well as it integrates with the outstanding features of KDE.   • CUTE User-friendly Text Editor
    CUTE is a Qt and Scintilla based text editor which can be easily extended using Python. It's main purpose is to be an user-friendly source code editor with a common graphical user interface. The editor supports syntax highlighting for many languages, tags files and projects.
  • EditPad Pro
    (commercial) A powerful and versatile text editor or word processor. Designed to make text editing as convenient as possible, using EditPad Pro to edit text files will save you a lot of time and frustration. A lite version is also available.
  • Freddy
    FRanc's Editor. This is mainly a programmer editor. It will have mainly the same feeling as DOS Navigator's editor, but it will know much more than this.
  • k-ftes
    k-ftes is a KDE port of the X/Windows/Dos FTE editor.
  • Katy
    Katy is a text editor for KDE, inspired by the Windows text editor, UltraEdit. Features include: Nice keyboard navigation, CR/LF detection/conversion, Find/Replace, and Windows menu listing open files.
  • kbdfed
    (ftp only) An editor for BDF (Binary Distribution Format) files.
  • KFTE
    A KDE port of Marko Macek's excelent FTE text editor. This program is aimed at programmers, but it will be useful for anyone who wants a simple, featureful and quick text editor.
  • KVim
    A port of Vim to the K Desktop Environment. It provides a nice GUI, with menubar, toolbar, popups menus and other functionality.
  • KWrite
    KWrite is a simple texteditor, with syntaxhighlighting, codefolding, dynamic word wrap and more, it's the lightweight version of Kate, providing more speed for minor tasks. It ships per default with KDEBASE package.
  • Lekho
    A "plain text" editor designed to take in phonetic input from a standard US keyboard and convert (transliterate) it online into bangla text. The text is stored as unicode ( UTF-8 ) and can be read by any unicode aware application.
  • Protoeditor
    Protoeditor is a little KDE text editor developed for PHP debugging with the free version of DBG debugger version 2.11.*. It was first implemented as a test application while doing a plugin for Quanta+ and now it became quite usable.
  • QTide
    A Qt-based text editor with some nice features. It has a simple installation script, a tabbed editor window to allow simultaneous editing of multiple files, support for integration of your own tools/programs, and extendable syntax highlighting.
  • REBECKA
    Regular Expression Based Editor with Coloring Keywords Ability: for programmers and users of different hypertext and graphical languages, such as LaTeX, HTML, XML and Postscript. It can analyze and color the syntax, which can be user defined with an easy-to-use GUI

    A development-oriented text editor for UNIX systems, based on the Qt GUI toolkit.
  • The "P" Kana Editor
    PKanaEditor is a little text editor. Its purpose is to allow occidental people to write text in romanji (Western characters) and have it transliterate to Hiragana, Katakana, an Kanji.
  • tX
    tX, formerly known as "Teddy", is a Tabular XML editor. It presents the structure and content of XML files in a way that is both visually pleasing and easy to use. Its features include the abiltiy to view XML in an hierarchical way without extraneous syntax or interface elements, edit data like a spreadsheet, enter data without having to worry about encoding rules, make major structural changes with minimal effort, cut and paste between most spreadsheet applications, and export to HTML.
  • Yudit
    A unicode text editor for the X Window System. It can do True Type font rendering, printing, transliterated keyboard input and handwriting recognition with no dependencies on external engines. It has conversion utilities can convert text between various encodings.
