GAMMA GAMMA Project: Genoa Active Message MAchine: runs on clusters of PCs, based on Intel as well as AMD CPUs (Intel Pentium, AMD K6, and superior models), connected by Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet. The core of GAMMA is a custom device driver under Linux, which operates the Network Interface Card (NIC) Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik run 16 Linux machines connected by a mesh of 100Mbps ethernet point-to- point-links as a computing server for scientific applications Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing specialized in distributed and parallel computing for research, development and practical applications and for the investigation of new fields for our partners and ourselves ParMa2 the main goal of this project is to use common commercial hardware and software ``bricks'' (Network Adapter, Personal Computers, Memories, Hub or Switch, Open Source software, standard library) to build a parallel system which can speedup computation. It is comprised of 10 nodes including 1 Quad Pentium III Xeon, and 4 Dual Pentium II nodes Pentium Farm a project involving 10 Linux SMP Pentiums connected to act as a cluster for parallel proccessing Spectra Cluster at University of Alabama at Huntsville a cluster of 18 Intel Pentium-II PCs connected with a 24-port Ethernet switch with Linux as the operating system. The Cluster is of running a message-passing program that is capable of utilizing up to 16 processors at once
