The Italian firm CompuMaster has introduced a compact thin client that runs Linux. The "Praim Ino" can be mounted on the back of a monitor, draws just six Watts, and comes with a variety of client software, the company says.

Kate is a multi document editor, based on a rewritten version of the kwrite editing widget of KDE, offering all the features of that plus a bunch of its own. Kate has been been moved to the kdebase package, and is a builtin part of your favorite desktop since release 2.2. Being a native KDE application, Kate is of course born with networking transparency, as well as it integrates with the outstanding features of KDE.   • CocoaCEDICT
    CocoaCEDICT is a Cocoa interface to the CEDICT Chinese (Mandarin) English dictionary. It supports looking up words by their English definition, Pinyin pronunciation, traditional Chinese text, or simplified Chinese text, and more.

It will also spell check the clipboard, making it a useful spelling checker for mail programs such as Eudora and news readers such as NewsWatcher. It will also work with any word processing program that supports Word Services such as AppleWorks (formerly ClarisWorks) or WordPerfect.
  • gooDict
    gooDict is a simple dictionary application. It contains Japanese, English-Japanese and Japanese-English dictionaries. It must be useful for people who are studying Japanese.
  • HyperSpell
    HyperSpell is a menu item that gives quick access to Mac OS X's built-in spellchecker. All you do is click on HyperSpell's icon in the menu bar and enter the word, or words, that you want spellchecked. Words that are misspelled appear with a red underline.
  • Latin WORDS
    Latin WORDS is a 30,000 word Latin-English dictionary program that parses inflected forms.

  • Shinyubin
    Shinyubin is a Kotoeri dictionary that matches Japanese ZIP codes to their addresses.
  • Spelling Bee
    Spelling Bee is a small application that lets you check the spelling of words using OS X's central spelling server. It is useful when using other applications that do not support spell checking, or if you are writing with a pen or pencil!
  • Spelling Corrector
    Spelling Corrector allows you to check words spelling in several languages.
  • Unihan Variant Dictionary
    "Unihan variants" are alternate forms of characters belonging to the "Unified Han," or "Unihan," section of the Unicode standard. The Unihan Variant Dictionary allows a user to enter any character and receive a list of corresponding variants, as well as the following information: unicode code point, pronunciation, and meaning.
