gbiff
gbiff checks for mail within a file, a qmail or mh style dir, or an imap4 , pop3 or apop server. It can display headers (number, sender, subject, and date) when new mail has arrived. It interprets any ISO-8859 encoding and supports both GTK and GNOME.

    (shareware) assists you in creating images that go with Apple's Aqua user interface appearance. The glossy, liquid appearance of Aqua looks great, but it places a burden on users and software developers who are not trained artists, since such images are not easy to make

  • Cenon
    Cenon is a vector graphics tool for GNUstep. It is built upon a modular graphical core, and offers a variety of applications beyond desktop publishing. Features include: Import of vector data (DXF, HPGL, PostScript, PDF, Gerber...), Export of vector data (DXF, HPGL, PostScript, Gerber...), Import of scanned data (TIFF, GIF, JPEG...), Editing and construction, Complete set of publishing functions, and Vectorisation.
  • ChocoFlop
    ChocoFlop allows you to edit your photos or design stuff using Apple's CoreImage technology. It takes advantage of the power of your graphics card (GPU).
  • CocoPad
    CocoPad is a simple pad in which you can draw whatever you like with a mouse or tablet pen: sketches, notes, messages, computations, drawings, etc.
  • Concept Draw
    (commercial) ConceptDraw is a tool for creating professional-looking diagrams, flowcharts, org charts, schemes, and other technical and business drawings.
  • DrawBerry
    DrawBerry is a simple vector drawing application.
  • GIMPshop
    A fork of GIMP which changes the layout of the user interface to resemble Adobe Photoshop. Read more
  • Image Tricks
    Image Tricks is a free application to edit and generate images. It uses Mac OS X Tiger Core Image filters that transform pictures to unimaginable extent and apply advanced visual effects. The program can create unique artwork you may use as business card background, for web design, print materials and more.
  • ImageMagick
    ImageMagick is a free software suite to create, edit, and compose bitmap images. It can read, convert and write images in a large variety of formats. Images can be cropped, colors can be changed, various effects can be applied, images can be rotated and combined, and text, lines, polygons, ellipses and Bézier curves can be added to images and stretched and rotated.   • Inkscape
    Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. Supported SVG features include shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, patterns, and grouping. Inkscape also supports Creative Commons meta-data, node editing, layers, complex path operations, bitmap tracing, text-on-path, flowed text, direct XML editing, and more. It imports formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and others and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats. Read more
  • LiveQuartz
    LiveQuartz is a powerful free image editor. It is based on layers and CoreImage filters. You have the layers on the left and the filters on the right of the window.
  • Paintbrush
    Paintbrush is a Cocoa-based paint program for Mac OS X, similar to Microsoft Paint and the now-defunct MacPaint. The project's ultimate goal is to recreate the basic functionality of Microsoft Paint, which has been noticeably absent from Mac OS X for years. Paintbrush can open and save to most major image formats, including BMP, PNG, JPEG, and GIF.
  • QTPov Editor
    QTPov Editor is a Povray SDL editor for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. Major features include: Syntax coloration, brackets highlight, automatic / manual tabulation system, completion system (with both keywords and declarations/macros), declarations / macros listing, included files parsing, ini editor, ini profile assistant, and scene rendering via .ini files.
  • Seashore
    Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format.
  • Tux Paint
    Tux Paint is a free drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (preschool and K-6). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who helps guide children as they use the program.
