What are good command line HTTP clients?
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts is a very famous quote from Aristotle, a Greek philosopher and scientist. This quote is particularly pertinent to Linux. In my view, one of Linux's biggest strengths is its synergy. The usefulness of Linux doesn't derive only from the huge raft of open source (command line) utilities. Instead, it's the synergy generated by using them together, sometimes in conjunction with larger applications.

  • DVB Driver Project

  • Emu10k1 sound driver

    Kernel Level Audio Next Generation (KLANG) is a new open source audio system in development. KLANG has been designed as a signal routing system, supporting seamless and transparent signal transport between all endpoints. In practice this means that there's no distinction between hardware and process endpoints. Each endpoint is either a signal source or a sink, allowing for versatile signal routing topoligies.
  • libcdorganizer
    libcdorganizer is a user space library used to abstract control of multiple CD organizer devices into a single interface. It uses libusb to control all USB devices, and is abstract enough that it should be able to control non-USB devices. It supports the Dacal DC-300 and KDS CDM-751.
  • margi_cs
    for the Margi/Bilionton DVD-to-Go PCCard that does not need a Zoomed Video (ZV) enabled notebook. This GPL driver is available for Linux kernel version 2.2.x together with pcmcia-cs later than 3.1.15

  • Midiman/Tascam Firmware Loader
    allow you to use Midiman's MidiSport USB MIDI interfaces and Tascam's USB Audio interfaces with Linux. These devices require a firmware download before an operating system driver (e.g. ALSA's snd-usb-audio) can access them
