IBM warns Linux Desktop Developers not to copy Windows
IBM bosses have sent a warning to Linux Desktop Developers; they have told the open source community to make Linux like a desktop OS for consumers and businesses. What they mean by this is “Not to Copy Windows.”

Market Analysis System
The Market Analysis System (MAS) is an open-source software application that provides tools for analysis of financial markets using technical analysis. Some of the features of MAS are: Includes basic technical analysis indicators, such as Simple Moving Average, Exponential Moving Average, Stochastic, MACD, RSI, On Balance Volume, and Momentum, more advanced indicators, such as Standard Deviation, Slope of EMA of Volume, Slope of MACD Signal Line, Bollinger Bands, and Parabolic SAR. Users can also create new technical analysis indicators, including complex indicators based on existing indicators. MAS can be configured and run as a server that provides services for several clients at a time running on remote machines.

  • OrderlyCalls
    OrderlyCalls is a multi-threaded telephony application server environment. You can run it stand-alone, inside your own application environment, or inside J2EE Servlet containers such as Tomcat.
  • Oreka
    Oreka is a modular and cross-platform system for recording and retrieval of audio streams. The project currently supports VoIP SIP and sound device based capture. Recordings metadata can be stored in any mainstream database. Retrieval of captured sessions is web based.
  • SimpleAIM
    an open source, miniature conosole based AIM client written in pure Java. It implements the TOC protocol and provides a solid framework for understanding and writing your own IM clients or bots
  • SipExchange
    SipExchange is a softswitch that provides standard SIP services like registration, proxy, and a presence. Using the SipExchange application, service providers can offer telephone services to their subscribers as well as other services based on voice, video, and instant messaging. SipExchange supports many of the standard subscriber features offered by the traditional telephone exchanges and PBXs. In addition, SipExchange supports external call control capabilities.
  • SmsDumper
    a Java client for the Clickatell service that allows you to send SMS messages to GSM mobile phones from the net
  • TOEJAM
    a Java Answering Machine. Using a Voice Modem as the base of an IVR system, it has been running 24x7 since Nov 2001 handling phone calls and emailing the results. Currently can use US Robotics 56K Pro Msg, USR Sportster may work
