9 First Steps with Ubuntu 15.04
One of the first things to do with a new release of Ubuntu is to check for updates. Typically, I won't upgrade to the latest release immediately, so there's always quite a few updates since the release. There's a handy Software Updater tool which makes the updating process painless.

  • Scrabbleizer
    Scrabbleizer is a graphical program used to keep track of Scrabble opponents and the games played against them. Useful and interesting statistics can be generated for individual players or all players with the press of a button.
  • Scroll Rack
    Scroll Rack is a virtual tabletop on which you can play card games against other people over a network. It was designed to simulate Magic: The Gathering® , but it could be expanded to simulate other games.

    VASSAL is a game engine for building and playing online adaptations of board games and card games. It allows users to play in real time over a live Internet connection (in addition to playing by email). It runs on all platforms, and is free for personal use.

    wm06 is a small WM06 planner to store results and dates of the football event in 2006. It calculates the meetings of the eighth final to final from the results.
  • WoW Companion
    WoW Companion is a Java client/server used to centrally store character, item and other data for World of Warcraft. Data is made available via the web in XML and other formats. Frontends for displaying character profiles also included.
  • Wyrm Tools
    Wyrm Tools is a suite of tools to make your gaming more productive regardless of which rules system you use. More importantly, it is an RPG tool platform. While this project anticipates to offer the standard RPG tool fare (such as a character generator and editor), it gives users the flexibility to add their own tools, even to the point of defining their own game systems.
  • Z-machine Preservation Project
    A clean Java 5 implementation for Z-machine and related tools. The Z-machine is a virtual machine which was used by the famous Infocom text adventures The goal is to document the Z-machine and its architectural principle as a legacy in game development.
